Who we are
Grace Community Church is made up of people from many different backgrounds and life stages. Some have been in church their entire lives; others are rediscovering faith or exploring Christianity for the first time.
What brings us together is not tradition, personality, or preference — but the shared belief that the good news of Jesus Christ changes everything.
We aim to be:
Biblically faithful. God’s word leads and guides.
Consumed with Jesus. He is the focus of everything.
Tender-heartedly compassionate. Everyone is our neighbor.
Authentic. Real life requires real faith for real people.
We are biblical in our theology and approachable in our culture. We desire a certain simplicity. Worship Jesus, follow the Bible, love our neighbor, make disciples.
What we believe
-
God’s glory above all. This is all about God.
Jesus is better. Christianity is not primarily about self-improvement or religious effort. It is about what Jesus has done through His life, death, and resurrection to reconcile us to God.
Scripture is truth. We believe Scripture speaks clearly and authoritatively to every generation. Teaching and understanding the Bible is central to our gatherings.
Prayer is essential. The power of God makes our mission possible.
The Church is family. Church is more than a weekly event. We desire genuine relationships where people encourage one another, carry burdens together, and grow spiritually over time.
Discipleship matters. We grow through worship, teaching, prayer, service, and everyday community.
Love works. We love God. We love our neighbors. People see our love when we serve each other, our neighbors, and the nations.
-
There is only one true God. He is the Creator of Heaven and earth. He exists in three eternally in three distinct persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is the eternal Son of God. He was born from a virgin. He is fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life, obeyed the Father’s will perfectly and died a substitutionary death on the cross. Jesus rose from the dead, ascended to the Father, and will physically return to establish His kingdom.
The Holy Spirit lives inside every believer, giving us gifts, guiding our lives and powering the church.
The Scriptures are our ultimate authority. They are given to us by God, written by men, and without error. They reveal to us what God intends that we know about himself and all spiritual matters.
Man is God’s good and special creation, made in the image of God, and deserving of love and respect. All of mankind are sinners by nature as well as by action and need redeeming by Christ.
Faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ is the only way we can be reconciled to God, be forgiven of our sins and experience true and eternal life. This is the work of God, done by grace alone.
One day in the future, Christ will return, all people will be judged, earth will be re-made, and everyone will spend eternity in heaven or hell.
-
Jesus summed up the entire Mission of the church in two phrases.
Love God with everything you have.
And
Love your neighbor as yourself.
We do that by loving upward, loving inward and loving outward.
We love upwards by worshipping the one true and living God in everything we do.
We love inwards by walking with each other in a way that encourages good works, spurs each other towards love and provides caring accountability.
We love outwardly by sharing the gospel with our neighbors across the street and across the nations.
-
Jesus was constantly offering people the same invitation- “Follow me.” We want to make disciples of Jesus as we follow Jesus.
Meet the pastor
Jason Bowman
I have been the pastor of Grace Community Church since 2022. I have had the desire to help other people love Jesus and understand their bible most of my life. I grew up in a large, loving family and was saved at an early age. I knew that I would spend the rest of my life helping people love Christ. The Lord allowed me to lead a student ministry and at the same time, I got to marry Jill. A few years later, we had our daughter Adasyn. I studied religion at Samford University and theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I love seeing people become passionate about their life in Christ
